About us

Fukubatake is a Japanese merchant house built 100 years ago.
It used to be a kimono shop, but now we run a private jazz academy.
It also provides accommodation for travelers.

Fukubatake is fully equipped for jazz with a grand piano, contrabass and drums.
And not only jazz, but also classical and pop concerts, jazz jam sessions, etc.
The village is very quiet at night, so when there are concerts and sessions, they are held during the day and in the evening.
With the sunset comes a dark, quiet night. Many stars are twinkling.

On the same place there is a small shop and a small library.
The shop sells light meals, snacks, miscellaneous goods, and more.
The library has replicas of Japanese literature and magazines published in the first half of the 20th century, collected by the owner's wife, which can be read freely.
